摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a service restoration time by avoiding implementation of unnecessary dispersion compensation amount control.SOLUTION: A communication device comprises: an optical input interruption detection unit 103 which detects input interruption of a signal from an opposite station; an own station error count monitoring unit 104 which monitors the number of reception errors at its own station; an opposite station error count monitoring unit 106 which monitors the number of reception errors at the opposite station; a comparison determination unit 1071 which determines necessity of dispersion compensation amount control on the basis of a detection result by the optical input interruption detection unit 103 and a monitoring result by the own station error count monitoring unit 104; a signal generation unit 1072 which generates a control request signal for the opposite station if it has been determined that the dispersion compensation amount control is necessary; request signal transmission means (frame generation unit 108, optical transmitter 110) which transmits the control request signal to the opposite station; and a dispersion compensation amount control unit 1073 which controls the compensation amount of dispersion compensation with reference to a monitoring result by the opposite station error count monitoring unit 106 if the control request signal has been received from the opposite station.
