PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device that allows a reduction in size of a carriage to be achieved while corresponding to a reduction in size of ink cartridges and a recording head.SOLUTION: A recording device provided with a recording head for performing recording on a medium to be recorded comprises: a carriage movable in a scan direction of the recording head; an endless belt that has a first belt section and a second belt section thereabove formed thereon by being wound between a first pulley and a second pulley and tows the carriage in the scan direction; and detection means that is disposed above the endless belt in the carriage and detects a position of the carriage in the scan direction. A belt clamp that is provided in the carriage and clamps a part of the endless belt is disposed apart from the detection means in the scan direction while clamping the second belt section in the endless belt. |
