PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect and take measures against abnormal discharge while eliminating the necessity of a high breakdown voltage circuit element and avoiding large additional cost in an air cleaner.SOLUTION: An air cleaner includes: a dust collecting section that has at least high voltage electrodes and low voltage electrodes disposed in parallel with each other in a direction intersecting with an air flowing direction and in which the low voltage electrodes are disposed separating from the high voltage electrodes; a high voltage generating section for supplying high voltage obtained by boosting input power source voltage to the dust collecting section via a cable; a control section for controlling the input of the power source voltage to the high voltage generating section; an electric field sensor attached to the cable; and an informing section for performing a predetermined informing operation in accordance with the control performed by the control section. Based on sensor output from the electric field sensor, the control section performs control of input of a power source to the high voltage generating section and control of the predetermined informing operation performed by the informing section.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
