PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical waveguide having small transmission loss and easily increasing channels and density, and an electronic device including the optical waveguide.SOLUTION: A refractive index distribution W in a width direction of an optical waveguide 1 includes two local minimum values, one first local maximum value, and two second local maximum values smaller than the first local maximum value, and has regions where the second local maximum value, the local minimum value, the first local maximum value, the local minimum value, and the second local maximum value are arranged in this order. When, among the regions, regions located between the two local minimum values so as to include the first local maximum value are regarded as core parts 14 and regions ranged from the respective local minimum values to the second local maximum value sides are regarded as side face clad parts 15, in the whole of the refractive index distribution W, refractive indexes are continuously changed. When an average width in the core parts is WCO and an average width in the side face clad parts is WCL, WCO/WCL is 0.1-10. The refractive index distribution W is formed by irradiating layers composed of materials formed by dispersion of monomers having refractive indexes different from those of polymers therein partly with light and by causing the monomers to eccentrically locate. |
