PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply device, an image forming apparatus and a power supply control method, allowing toner to be securely clouded and preventing the toner from being deteriorated during development, to increase a lifetime of the toner and form a high quality image.SOLUTION: A power supply device 100 is used for a flare development system image forming apparatus in which development is performed by applying to toner an AC voltage being alternately shifted between a pulse positive voltage application period and a pulse negative voltage application period to cause the toner to be floated. When performing development, the device 100 alternately shifts the AC voltage between the pulse positive voltage application period and the pulse negative voltage application period, through a low voltage period in which the voltage is set to be smaller in absolute value than that corresponding to a maximum amplitude of the AC voltage. |
