PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray fluorescence detector and a control method that are capable of positioning a turntable in such a manner as to avoid interference of a component at the time of start-up.SOLUTION: An X-ray fluorescence analyzer (X-ray fluorescence detector) comprises a turntable 1 that has multiple holes (sample holding parts) 11 for holding a sample, and measures X-ray fluorescence while the turntable 1 is lowered. When any one of the holes 11 of the turntable 1 is at a prescribed measurement position at the time of start-up, the X-ray fluorescence analyzer moves the turntable 1 upward, rotates the turntable 1 and then sets a rotational position at a prescribed initial position. The rotation of the turntable 1 after upward movement realizes positioning of the turntable 1 without causing interference of a component. When any one of the holes 11 is not at the measurement position at the time of start-up, the X-ray fluorescence analyzer rotates the turntable 1 and then sets the rotational position at the initial position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
