PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of taking stable moving images with no camera shakes without requiring dedicated devices.SOLUTION: A digital camera 100 includes: a CCD140, an ADC150 and an image processing section 160 (imaging unit) for taking moving images with a first resolution and generating 4K moving image data; and a controller 180 that generates a segmented moving image data based on an area Az in which a part of entire area A0 is segmented in a moving image represented by the 4K moving image data, and records the generated segmented moving image data in a memory card 200 with a resolution lower than the first resolution generated and segmented. The controller 180 records the generated segmented moving image data in the memory card 200 while shifting the segmented area Az according to the user predetermined instruction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
