PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading device capable of providing a uniform illumination distribution in a uniformly reading area in a transmission plate without generating any stray light.SOLUTION: The image reading device includes: an imaging window 16 opened in a housing 15; a plane transmission plate 18 which has the transparency and is disposed in the imaging window 16; an imaging unit 14 that takes an image of an object which is positioned in a reading area in a range which has a resolution larger than a certain value in an imaging area formed outside the housing to form an image on an image pickup device 14a via the transmission plate 18; an illumination unit 13; and an optical path change member 20. The illumination unit 13 is disposed at the inside of the uniform imaging area and outside the imaging area for illuminating the reading area with illumination light. The optical path change member 20 changes the optical path of the ray in a an optical path of a light beam emitted from the illumination unit 13, which may be a stray light and which arrive the image pickup device 14a being reflected on the input/output plane of the transmission plate 18.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
