PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation device that prevents a user from losing sight of a position presently scrolled by him/herself even when scrolling in a large range and switching scrolling directions.SOLUTION: A navigation device performs: in a case where displayed map data is not scroll-operated, displaying, from map data in a given range around a display center point of the map data, map data of a displayable display range; or, in a case where the displayed map data is scroll-operated, reading, with respect to a road at a position closest to the display center point, only road data in the direction of a scroll operation to be temporarily stored, and displaying the temporarily stored road data. Thus, even when a large range scroll movement (a high-speed scroll) or a quick switching of scrolling direction is performed, it is not affected by an RAM capacity used for a look-ahead and a blank map is not displayed, and therefore, a user is prevented from losing sight of a position presently scrolled. |
