摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat generation rate waveform creating device of an internal combustion engine capable of defining a combustion state of fuel in a cylinder of an internal combustion engine at high precision, and a combustion state diagnosis device.SOLUTION: In a diesel engine, a cylinder is divided into a cavity internal region and a cavity external region, and a reaction speed gradient at premixed combustion in each region is found from a period and an amount for injecting fuel from an injector. A reaction speed is calculated from the reaction speed gradient. Using the calculated reaction speed, ideal heat generation rate waveform models are created for respective reaction forms of a high-temperature oxidation reaction and other reactions by premixed combustion of the injected fuel in each region. The ideal heat generation rate waveform models are made smooth and synthesized by filter-processing, so as to create an ideal heat generation rate waveform in each reaction form. Whether abnormality occurs or not is diagnosed by comparing the ideal heat generation rate waveform of each reaction and an actual heat generation rate waveform found from the detected in-cylinder pressure.
