PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a generation control apparatus capable of improving fuel economy while securing a necessary travel range.SOLUTION: A generation control apparatus performs: predicting a travel condition including vehicular travel time (S10); calculating a generation amount necessary for a vehicle to travel for the travel time on the basis of the predicted travel condition (S50); setting, as a practice generation pattern, a generation pattern that can generate a necessary generation amount required to the predicted travel time and provides relative good fuel economy, from among plural generation patterns (S60); and causing a generator to generate by driving an engine during the vehicular travel in accordance with the practice generation pattern (S70). The practice generation pattern enables generation of the necessary generation amount, and therefore it is possible to secure the necessary range. Further, a generation pattern with relatively good fuel economy is set as the practice generation pattern from among generation patterns capable of generating the necessary generation amount, and therefore, it is also possible to improve the fuel economy. |
