A display device comprising: an image display area that includes a plurality of pixels sectioned by a plurality of scanning signal lines and a plurality of video signal lines; a plurality of first scanning connection lines connected to the plurality of scanning signal lines; a plurality of first thin film transistors that are interposed between the scanning signal lines and the first scanning connection lines, each of the scanning signal lines and each of the first scanning connection lines being connected to a source electrode and a drain electrode of a corresponding one of the first thin film transistors, the plurality of first thin film transistors including a first group of first thin film transistors and a second group of first thin film transistors; a plurality of first selection signal lines, wherein one of the plurality of first selection signal lines is connected to a gate electrode of each of the first thin film transistors of the first group of first thin film transistors, each of the first thin film transistors of the first group of the first thin film transistors being connected to a different one of the first scanning connection lines; a plurality of second scanning connection lines connected to the plurality of scanning signal lines; a plurality of second thin film transistors that are interposed between the scanning signal lines and the second scanning connection lines, each of the scanning signal lines and each of the second scanning connection lines being connected to a source electrode and a drain electrode of a corresponding one of the second thin film transistors, the plurality of second thin film transistors including a third group of second thin film transistors and a fourth group of second thin film transistors; a plurality of second selection signal lines, wherein one of the plurality of second selection signal lines is connected to a gate electrode of each of the second thin film transistors of the third group of second thin film transistors, the third group of second thin film transistors, which correspond to the first group of first thin film transistors that are connected to the one of the plurality of first selection signal lines, being connected to the one of the plurality of second selection signal lines; and a scanning signal drive circuit connected to the first scanning connection lines, the first selection signal lines, and the second selection signal lines, wherein the scanning signal drive circuit sequentially supplies a pulse signal to the first scanning connection lines in a selection period in which a gate-on voltage is applied to the one of the plurality of first selection signal lines, and the scanning signal drive circuit applies a gate-off voltage to the one of the plurality of second selection signal lines corresponding to the one of the plurality of first selection signal lines to which the gate-on voltage is applied.
