A manufacturing method of a separator for a lithium ion secondary battery configured by forming a coating layer in a nonwoven fabric base material is characterized in that a conveyance roll from applying a coating liquid to the nonwoven fabric base material to drying is a roll of which the diameter is equal to or smaller than 25 mm, and a surface opposite to the surface to which the coating liquid is applied is supported by the conveyance roll.
