The invention relates to a heat shield (2) for a heat- and sound-radiating component (3) in a vehicle, with a carrier (4) which has an inner side (I) which, in the mounted state, faces the component (3) and on which a continuous insulating material (12) is arranged, for the absorption of heat and sound which are produced by the component (3), wherein the carrier (4) has a number of apertures (6) in order to reduce sound radiation of the carrier (4). The special embodiment and arrangement of the apertures (6) and the arrangement of the insulating material (12) on the inner side (I) significantly improve the sound- and heat-insulating properties of the heat shield (2).
