A Light-Emitting Diode (LED) illuminator-condenser capable of supplying bright-field, dark-field, fluorescence, oblique, and phase-contrast illumination under Köhler-like conditions. A single lens may be permanently focused on the specimen plane. Illumination conditions may be made by a combination of uniform LEDs, collimating masks and diffusers. LEDs may be arranged in one or more ring-shaped patterns. |

at least one convergent lens; at least one multiwavelength light-emitting diode for bright field illumination; a ring of green light-emitting diodes for low-magnification phase contrast illumination; at least one ring of green light-emitting diodes for high-magnification phase contrast illumination; a ring of multiwavelength light-emitting diodes for dark field illumination; at least one ring of single-wavelength light-emitting diodes for fluorescence illumination; and one or more light-absorbing masks to collimate light from one or more of said rings of light-emitting diodes. |
