Disclosed is a route detection method, applying to a source router device in a Long Term Evolution (LTE) network, wherein the LTE network comprises a Layer 2 virtual private network (L2VPN) and a Layer 3 virtual private network (L3VPN). The method comprises: acquiring configuration information, the configuration information comprising a detection identifier, a source address and a target address, the source address being an address of a source router device in the L2VPN, the target address being an address of a target router device in the L3VPN; determining, according to the source address and the target address, a detection route from the source router device in the L2VPN to the target router device in the L3VPN, and sending a heartbeat message, generated according to the detection identifier, to a next-hop router device of the source router device on the detection route. The route detection method provided in embodiments of the present invention can automatically detect a node failure on a transmission route from L2 to L3 in the LTE network. |
