PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength conversion member in which excitation light conversion efficiency is improved over conventional, while enhancing the degree of freedom in the design of light color.SOLUTION: In a wavelength conversion member (1), a plurality of phosphor particles (11) containing a phosphor of oxynitride or nitride are dispersed into a silica glass (10). In the plurality of phosphor particles (11), at least two kinds of phosphor particles, i.e., first phosphor particles (11a) emitting fluorescent light having a first peak wavelength, and a second phosphor particles (11b) emitting fluorescent light having a second peak wavelength, are contained.
