PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production apparatus for carbon nanostructure and a production method for carbon nanostructure that can make a carbon nanostructure long and stabilize its shape by using a magnetic field.SOLUTION: A production apparatus 1 for carbon nanostructure includes: a catalyst member 4 which grows a carbon nanotube 20; a material supply part (a material gas supply part 11, a material gas supply pipe 5); one coil 7; and a heater 6. The material supply part supplies carbon for constituting the carbon nanotube 20 to the catalyst member 4. The coil 7 applies a gradient magnetic field which gradually increases in magnetic field intensity from one surface of the catalyst member 4 to the other surface opposing to the one surface. The heater 6 heats the catalyst member 4. The catalyst member 4 is arranged at a position along the central axis of the coil 7 and deviated from the center of the coil 7. The coil 7 can apply a gradient magnetic field to the catalyst member 4 so that the rate of change of the magnetic field strength at the position of the catalyst member 4 exceeds 30Tm. |
