PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair cosmetic capable of easily obscuring white hair by covering the hair surface with a melanin polymer in a single use by a hair-care act such as daily styling, and capable of dyeing hair at a sufficient level in plural continuous uses.SOLUTION: A hair cosmetic contains components (a), (b) and (c), where the pH at 25°C is 7.5 or more and 12 or less, and the molar ratio (b)/(a) of the component (b) to the component (a) is 0.01 or more and 0.45 or less. (a) A melanin precursor represented by the general formula (1) [where the dash line represents the presence or absence of a &pgr; bond, Rrepresents a hydroxyl group or an acetoxy group, Rrepresents H, -COOR (where R is H, CHor CH) or -COOX(where Xis a cation), and Rrepresents H, an acetyl group, CHor CH]; (b) a divalent iron ion; and (c) an anionic coat-forming polymer. |
