PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a damage of a pin hole caused by an end part of a piston pin clip.SOLUTION: This invention relates to assembly method for a piston pin clip for use in installing a substantial C-shaped piston clip 15 having a cleavage 15A at a clip groove of a piston 1 formed with a clip groove 11 and a side relief groove 12 at a piston hole 10. The method comprises the steps of arranging the piston pin clip coaxially with the pin hole and the cleavage part corresponds to the side relief groove; and flexing the piston pin clip in a radial inward direction, inserting the piston pin clip into the pin hole in such a way that both ends forming the cleavage of the piston pin clip may pass through the position corresponding to the side relief groove, and moving it to the clip groove. |
