PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine structure for performing good heat transport to cooling water and oil while enhancing the thermal efficiency of an engine.SOLUTION: The engine structure includes a cylinder liner 51 forming a combustion chamber 10, and a water jacket 26 in which cooling water distributes, the cylinder liner 51 having heat-conductivity anisotropy such that the heat conductivity in the vertical direction along the center line thereof is greater than the heat conductivity in the thickness direction perpendicular to the vertical direction, the water jacket 26 being provided so that the cooling water distributes through a position near the upper end of the cylinder liner 51.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
