<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive unit for a liquid crystal display satisfying an operation specification of a gate voltage generation part, and the liquid crystal display containing the same. <P>SOLUTION: This drive unit for the liquid crystal display of the present invention is provided with a gate-on voltage generation part for generating a gate-on voltage, and a gate-off voltage generation part for generating a gate-off voltage, the gate-on voltage generation part includes the first and second resistances connected between a prescribed reference voltage and a grounding voltage, a voltage follower connected between the first resistance and the second resistance, a charge pump circuit connected to an output end of the voltage follower, and a gate-on voltage output terminal connected to the charge pump circuit. The gate-on voltage is prevented from being elevated abruptly in a blank time, by disposing the voltage follower in a prestage of the charge pump circuit to block an influence caused by fluctuation of a load. Stress applied onto the resistances are also minimized by distributing the reference voltage through the two resistances having the same resistance value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
