<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sales amount prediction system capable of predicting a sales amount of merchandise in future as an accurate numeral value. <P>SOLUTION: An information providing device 1 collects external information including word-of-mouth information or event information affecting purchase of the merchandise in a retail store, out of information disclosed on a network, stores the collected external information in its inside, and extracts the stored external information, according to an indication.
