PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a laminar lithium composite oxide exhibiting, when used as an anode active material, a high discharge capacity per volume and capable of yielding a lithium ion secondary battery exhibiting, when used within an atmosphere having a temperature higher than normal temperature, excellent cycle characteristics and excellent rate characteristics.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for manufacturing a laminar lithium composite oxide having a prescribed composition, comprising a precursor preparation step of obtaining a precursor by using a lithium source, a raw material including M, and a raw material including M, a first firing step of obtaining a fired product [1] by firing the precursor in an atmosphere having an oxygen concentration of 5-15 vol.%, and a second firing step of obtaining a second fired product [2] by firing the fired product [1] in an atmosphere having an oxygen concentration higher than the oxygen concentration in the first firing step. |
