PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for determining a signaling system for handover, a relevant computer program product, and a data structure.SOLUTION: A first method includes a step of transmitting an instruction of a first protocol version in a handover request message. A second method includes: a step of receiving this instruction in the handover request message; a step of determining a value of an information element that is included in a handover request acknowledge message to be transmitted, and that instructs usage of the first signaling system or a second signaling system different from the first signaling system, on the basis of this received instruction and a second protocol version; and a step of transmitting the handover request acknowledge message including this information element. The handover request acknowledge message including this information element is received by the first method.
