PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine tool for improving processing accuracy, by restraining a contact trace from remaining in a work by a swing stop device.SOLUTION: The machine tool comprises a wheel spindle stock 4 for relatively moving in the radial direction (the X direction) of the work W between a grinding wheel 5 and the work W, a table 3 for relatively moving in the length direction (the Z direction) of the work W between the grinding wheel 5 and the work W, a saddle for moving a rest shoe for supporting the work W in the Z direction by slidingly contacting with the work W in traverse grinding and a numerical control device 21 for controlling the relative movement of the table 3 and the saddle so that the rest shoe is positioned to the work W by maintaining a state of being dislocated to a Z directional place for grinding hereafter from a place where the grinding wheel 5 grinds at present time. |
