摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical communication device and a dynamic wavelength allocation method capable of minimizing, simply and easily implementably, the number of OSUs to be operated.SOLUTION: The present invention is a dynamic wavelength allocation method for an OLT 91 allocating a communication wavelength to an ONU 92 in an optical subscriber system in which a plurality of ONUs 92 and a single OLT 91 are connected by a PON topology, the dynamic wavelength allocation method having: a communication volume measurement procedure for measuring the number of used wavelengths and communication volume of used wavelengths; a sleep wavelength determination procedure for determining whether the necessary number of wavelengths sufficient for transferring the measured communication volume is smaller than the number of used wavelengths and, if the necessary number of wavelengths is smaller than the number of used wavelengths, determining one of the used wavelengths to be a use halted wavelength; a wavelength switching procedure for switching a subscriber unit having been using the use halted wavelength to a used wavelength different from the use halted wavelength; and a sleep procedure for placing a transmitter-receiver of the use halted wavelength into a sleep state.
