A photographing apparatus for controlling an image-record according to the state of the received image signal on the image-record and the image recording method thereof are provided to use the record space efficiently by preventing image error recording, thereby improving the user's convenience. A receiving member(210) receives the image signal produced through the photographing. A recording member(260) records the image signal to a recording medium. A control member(280) controls the recording member so that the image signal is recorded. The control member discriminates the state of the image signal when recording the image signal and controls the recording operation of the recording member relating to the image signal on the basis of the discriminating result. When the state of the received image signal is good, the recording operation of the image signal is performed continuously by the control member under the control of the control member.
