The described tool serves for heat-sealing and separation of continuously conveyed films made of a thermoplastic material, e.g. for transverse heat-sealing and separation of a tubular film material between mutually distanced objects arranged inside of the film tube. The tool is designed as heat-sealing/separating element (1) and consists of a plurality of juxtaposed layers, wherein the two outermost layers are constituted by a folded coverin g sheet (2). Between the two parts of the covering sheets (2), which meet at the fold edg e serving as separating edge (3), a heating element is arranged, which comprises a flat support (11) made of an electrically insulating material and a heating wire (6) wound around t he support (11). Between the covering sheet (2) and the support (11) further insulating layer s (10) are arranged. The heat-sealing/separating element (1) has e.g. a thickness of merely approximately 2 mm. The tool's advantages are its little weight, its low energy consumption and its ability for heat-sealing and separating when the distances between t he objects arranged in the film tube are very small. |
