PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water pump bearing having a low rotation torque while preventing a grease leakage and dust intrusion.SOLUTION: A water pump bearing 1 includes: an inner race 2 fixed to a housing 10; an outer race 3 coupled to a rotation shaft 7 that is continuously connected to a propeller 11 for circulating cooling water at one end of the rotation shaft, via a plate 8; a plurality of rolling elements 5 interposed between the inner race 2 and the outer race 3; and a pair of sealing members 4 for sealing axial both end openings of the inner race 2 and the outer race 3. The water pump bearing is an outer race rotating-type bearing in which grease containing base oil and a thickening agent is encapsulated in the periphery of the rolling element 5. The outer race 3 is integrally provided with a pulley 9 at an outer diameter part thereof. The base oil has kinetic viscosity of 13-73 mm/s at 40°C, and the thickening agent is made of an urea compound. |
