PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device for improving the discriminating accuracy of the type of an optical disk.SOLUTION: An optical disk device includes: a data acquisition part 5 for acquiring the optical characteristic data of an optical disk 11 generated by measuring a signal to be output by an optical pickup part 2 by a signal measurement part 3; an operation history management part 6 for managing a frequency of normally performing a reproducing or recording operation for each type of the optical disk 11; a threshold setting part 7 for setting a value weighted in accordance with the rate of an operational frequency of the different types of optical disks 11 managed by the operation history management part 6 as a threshold for an overlapped part where the optical characteristic data of the different types of optical disks 11 are partially overlapped with each other; and a disk discrimination part 8 for comparing the optical characteristic data of the optical disk 11 obtained by the data acquisition part 5 with the threshold set by the threshold setting part 7 to discriminate the type of the optical disk 11. |
