PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of a sheet glass molding, by which defects such as air bubbles are prevented from being formed in a molded sheet glass.SOLUTION: The method includes: a process for producing a refractory body 2; and a process for producing a protection cover 3 comprising a precious metal sheet covered in a region including a bottom edge of the refractory body 2. In the process for producing the protection cover 3, two precious metal sheets 32 are arranged along a pair of inclined faces 24 of the refractory body 2 in a region including the bottom edge 25 of the refractory body 2, and edges 32a of the precious metal sheets 32 are met together at a position corresponding to the bottom edges 25 of the refractory body 2. Fused precious metal is padded between each of the edges 32a of the precious metal sheets over them by way of the bottom edge 25 of the refractory body 2, and thereafter, the padded part 35 is formed in a projected shape by abrasion. |
