The invention relates to agriculture and can be used at wine-producing, juice, fodder plants and at drying enterprises. A method for drying vegetable raw material is in that material milling and drying is performed in counter-flow of heat carrier. The moisture is partially removed by pressing-out, after that drying of material is performed in vacuum with simultaneous milling by exposure to impact force of milling elements with periodic pressure release. A device for drying vegetable raw material consists of chamber for pressing and drying material, this has combined worm, milling elements, branch pipe for connection to vacuum pump, gates for loading and unloading. The device has additional drying chamber connected to pressing chamber, in the lower part of the drying chamber branch pipe forconnection to vacuum pump is arranged, and milling elements installed on the shaft, at that the gate for loading placed between the pressing chamber and drying chamber is installed with possibility of turn by means of friction drive and consists of two pockets, each of those is made of two placed towards each other troughs, the device is equipped with outer and inner stationary gates with openings for passage of material and two gates installed in each of stationary gates with possibility to close those openings, at that in the upper part of the outer stationary gate there is at least one air vent that is connected to atmospheric air through thermo-valve. The invention makes it possible to increase effectiveness and to decrease time of process of drying and to decrease power consumption and labor consumption.
