A flexible graphite strip for sealing flanged joints of a large diameter has a density of 0.4-1.2 g/cm3, width 5-15 mm, and transverse corrugation. In transverse direction it has a width density gradient of 2.5-10%, the corrugation pitch from 5 to 15 mm and the corrugation height of 0.3-3.0 mm.
