<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle theft prevention device exerting a node function while keeping theft preventive performance even when a communication error with other nodes occurs. <P>SOLUTION: In the vehicle theft prevention device with an engine ECU mounted in a vehicle and executing control for permitting the start-up of a vehicle engine when verification with other nodes connected via a multiplex communication line is established, the engine ECU stores the result of the verification conducted with other nodes at least at the nearest occasion in a volatile memory, and permits the start-up of the vehicle engine corresponding to the verification result stored in the volatile memory when something abnormal occurs in multiplex communications with other nodes via the multiplex communication line. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
