A damage prevention apparatus of a vehicle door is provided to prevent a vehicle from being partially damaged or its coating from being peeled up by protruding or hiding a shock-absorbing member and by preventing the vehicle from contacting to a wall or an adjacent vehicle. A damage prevention apparatus of a vehicle door comprises: an operating member installed inside a door panel(2), which can move back and forth, a shock-absorbing member(20) protruded outside the door panel through a hole formed in one side of the door panel when the operating member is moved forth and hidden inside the door panel when the operating member is moved back, a driving device installed inside the door panel, which moves the operating member back and forth, an open/close member(40), which opens the hole when the operating member moves forth and closes the hole when the operating member moves back, and a connecting member(50) connecting the opening member with the operating member and interlocking operation of the shock absorbing member and the opening member.
