Tire having a radial carcass reinforcement anchored in each bead by an upturn around a bead wire, reinforced by at least one layer of reinforcing elements turned up around the bead wire, one end of said at least one layer of reinforcing elements being axially on the outside of the carcass reinforcement upturn and radially on the inside of the end of said upturn, the other end turned up around the bead wire being axially on the inside of the carcass reinforcement. The reinforcing elements are non-wrapped metal cords with saturated layers, having, in a permeability test, a flow rate of less than 5 cm3/min and the distance between the end, axially on the outside of the carcass reinforcement upturn, of said at least one layer of reinforcing elements turned up around the bead wire and the end of the carcass reinforcement upturn is less than 5 mm. |
