PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positive electrode material for a lithium ion secondary battery, having a high capacity and excellent charge/discharge characteristics and comprising lithium manganate, and a method for producing the positive electrode material for a lithium ion secondary battery.SOLUTION: A positive electrode material for a lithium ion secondary battery comprising lithium manganate is used. In the positive electrode material for a lithium ion secondary battery, a carboxyl group is adsorbed to the surface of a particle to be oriented, and the spin concentration obtained in measuring electron spin resonance (ESR) is 1.5×10(spins/g) or more.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
