PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure radiation inside an object such as soil without being affected by the radiation flying from the outside.SOLUTION: A soil survey meter comprises a measurement device 30 and a control device 32. The measurement device 30 has an insertion unit 34 inserted into soil, and a detection unit is disposed inside thereof to be movable vertically. A detection unit 42 has a scintillator member 58 and a shield member 62, and a slit 66 included in the shield member 62 functions as a collimator. The shield member 62 shields radiation flying from the upper side and also shields the radiation flying from the lower side. As a result, in the detection unit 42, directional characteristics 68 are generated with the main sensitivity direction as a horizontal direction. If a depth location of the detection unit 42 is varied, a radiation dose graph can be prepared. The radiation can be measured at a plurality of depth positions using a shield vessel having slit rows and extended in the depth direction. |
