The present invention relates to a method for preparing a super absorbent polymer. The method for preparing a super absorbent polymer according to the present invention comprises the steps of: carrying out a thermal polymerization or a photopolymerization of a monomer composition including a water-soluble ethylene-based unsaturated monomer and a polymerization initiator to form a hydrogel polymer; drying the hydrogel polymer;pulverizing the dried polymer; mixing a fine powder having a particle diameter of 180 µm or less and a polymer having a particle diameter of 300 µm or more among the pulverized polymer; and adding steam to the mixture to carry out a reassembling. According to the present invention, the super absorbent polymer having a high fine powder aggregation strength can be obtained.
