A split cage has a plurality of cage segments 6 each having a pair of rim portion 21 and 22 and a pair of columnar portions 23 and 24. Taper rollers are put into pockets 25 from radially outer sides of the cage segments 6. The columnar portions 23 and 24 have holding portions 31, 32, 33 and 34. The holding portions 31, 32, 33 and 34 of each cage segment 6 are provided on both the radially outer side and the radially inner side so as to protrude toward a corresponding one of the taper rollers. In addition, the holding portions 31, 32, 33 and 34 abut against the outer circumferential surface of a corresponding one of the taper rollers so as to position the rollers in a radial direction of the cage segment 6. The holding portions 31 and 33 on the radially outer side from which the taper roller is put into the pocket 25 are provided in axially central regions of the columnar portions 23 and 24. |
