PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable speed zoom lever which makes it easy for a user to feel a sensation of the moment when the rotary zoom lever enters a high speed range from a normal speed range while rotationally manipulating the rotary zoom lever to a preset angle or greater, which makes it easy for the user to stop focal length changing operation at a desired shooting view angle.SOLUTION: A variable zoom lever belongs to a camera which enables faster zooming operation at an increased operating speed compared with a normal operating speed when the rotary zoom lever is rotationally manipulated to a preset rotation angle or greater, and includes an outer gear wheel integrally formed with a zoom lever holding member configured to rotate together with the zoom lever, and a gear wheel with a friction rubber which is a separate gear configured to be engaged with the outer gear wheel. The gear wheel integrally formed with the zoom lever is a so-called sector gear wheel configured not to be engaged with the gear wheel with the friction rubber when the zoom lever is within the preset angle, or a normal speed zoom range, and to be engaged with the gear wheel with the friction rubber when the zoom lever is in a range outside the preset angle range.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
