The purpose of the present invention is to provide a polarizing plate capable of inhibiting variation in transmittance and maintaining the display quality of a display device even when the display device has been exposed to a high-temperature, high-humidity environment, and a display device and organic EL display device having the polarizing plate. This polarizing plate has, in sequence from the visible side, a polarizer, and an optical anisotropic layer disposed adjacent to the polarizer, wherein the polarizer is an iodine-based polarizer in which iodine has been adsorbed and oriented on a polyvinyl alcohol film, the optical anisotropic layer is obtained by curing a composition containing a photoinitiator and a liquid crystal compound having a polymerizable group, the photoinitiator contains a photoinitiator X having a base dissociation constant pKb of 8 or higher and a molecular weight of 240 or higher, and the content of the photoinitiator X is 60 mass% or higher with respect to the total mass of the photoinitiator. |
