PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve both suppression of the occurrence of a belt-like image due to adhesion of toner to a developing sleeve and suppression of consumption of unnecessary toner in an initial state of a developer.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus switches between a post-rotation mode 1 as a first mode and a post-rotation mode 2 as a second mode on the basis of information affecting a toner charge amount. In the post-rotation mode 1, upon completion of image formation, the image forming apparatus stops rotation of a developing sleeve before or at the same time when a charging stop position (drum potential OFF) on a photoreceptor drum at which charging by a charging roller is stopped reaches a developing position opposite to the developing sleeve. After that, the image forming apparatus stops application of a developing voltage. In the post-rotation mode 2, the image forming apparatus stops application of the developing voltage substantially at the same time when the charging stop position reaches the developing position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7 |
