A liquid crystal display device includes first and second substrates facing each other; a liquid crystal layer between the first and second substrates; a thin-film transistor (“TFT”) on the first substrate and including a semiconductor layer and a gate, source and drain electrodes; an organic layer on the TFT and defining a contact hole therein which exposes a portion of the drain electrode; a conductive layer on the organic layer and contacting the exposed portion of the drain electrode at the contact hole; a common electrode which is on the organic layer and isolated from the conductive layer; a passivation layer on the conductive layer and the common electrode and defining an opening therein which exposes a portion of the conductive layer; and a pixel electrode on the passivation layer and the conductive layer and contacting the exposed portion of the conductive layer at the opening. |

1. A liquid crystal display, comprising:
first and second substrates facing each other; a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first and second substrates; a thin-film transistor disposed on the first substrate and including a semiconductor layer, a gate electrode, a source electrode and a drain electrode; an organic layer disposed on the thin-film transistor, the organic layer defining a contact hole therein which exposes a portion of the drain electrode; a conductive layer disposed on the organic layer and contacting the exposed portion of the drain electrode at the contact hole defined in the organic layer; a common electrode which is disposed on the organic layer and isolated from the conductive layer; a passivation layer disposed on the conductive layer and the common electrode, the passivation layer defining an opening therein which exposes a portion of the conductive layer; and a pixel electrode disposed on the passivation layer and on the conductive layer and contacting the exposed portion of the conductive layer at the opening defined in the passivation layer. |
