1. A liquid crystal display comprising:
a first substrate; a plurality of pixel electrodes disposed on the first substrate and including a first sub-pixel electrode and a second sub-pixel electrode separated from each other and positioned in one pixel area; a plurality of gate lines connected to the plurality of pixel electrodes; a plurality of data lines connected to the plurality of pixel electrodes; a plurality of reference voltage lines connected to the second sub-pixel electrode of the plurality of pixel electrodes; a second substrate facing the first substrate; a common electrode disposed on the second substrate; a liquid crystal layer positioned between the first substrate and the second substrate and including a plurality of liquid crystal molecules including first and second crystal molecules; and a first initial pretilt angle of the first liquid crystal molecules of the plurality of liquid crystal molecules corresponding to the first sub-pixel electrode with reference to a surface of the second substrate is larger than a second initial pretilt angle of the second liquid crystal molecules of the plurality of liquid crystal molecules corresponding to the second sub-pixel electrode with reference to the surface of the second substrate.
