PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module and a method of manufacturing the same such that the optical module having a lens component mounted on a wiring board with an optical waveguide can have higher bonding strength of the lens component to the wiring board.SOLUTION: An optical module comprises: a wiring board 10; an optical waveguide 20 arranged on the wiring board 10; an optical path conversion part 30 provided at an end of the optical waveguide 20; and a lens component 50 mounted on the wiring board 10 and having a lens 51 for converging light from the optical path conversion part 30 arranged. A fixed member 40 is soldered and joined on the wiring board 10, the lens component 50 is mounted on the wiring board 10 with the fixed member 40 accommodated in a through hole formed in the lens component 50, and a space, except the fixed member 40, in the through hole is filled with resin 60.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9 |
