PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the degradation of an image.SOLUTION: A display device 10 has: an image display panel 40 in which a plurality of pixels 48, each having first subpixels to fourth subpixels arranged in two rows and two columns, are arrayed in matrix form in a display region 43, and to which image information is inputted; and a signal processing unit 20. The signal processing unit 20 is provided with: a rendering place determination unit for determining in a first pixel, a second pixel, and a third pixel that a subpixel rendering process for making the input signal value of each subpixel of the second pixel changed is executed; a pattern information acquisition unit for acquiring the array of subpixels in the processing direction of either a portrait mode or a landscape mode as information on a first array pattern or a second array pattern; and a rendering unit for executing a first subpixel rendering process or a second subpixel rendering process on the input signal of each subpixel of the second pixel on the basis of determination by the rendering place determination unit and the pattern information.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
