PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing unit and a sheet printing machine that achieve higher printing output without deteriorating printing quality.SOLUTION: In a printing unit 2 of a sheet printing machine, that comprises a printing cylinder 10, an upstream transfer cylinder 5, and a downstream transfer cylinder 5, the transfer cylinders 5 have a device for decelerating or accelerating a sheet. Particularly, the device has at least one gripper bridge capable of moving in a substantially radial direction, and thereby the gripper bridge, and consequently tangential velocity of a sheet, is adjustable. According to the printing unit 2, sheets are conveyed at a slight interval from each other at low speed during a printing process.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
