PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric bicycle and a hub device for an electric bicycle which can regenerate even in high speed traveling and can eliminate and miniaturize an interruption device such as an FET for regenerative operation interruption.SOLUTION: A rear wheel is provided with a hub device 50. The hub device 50 comprises: a hub shaft 51 that can be attached to a frame; a hub body 52 provided rotatably around the hub shaft 51 and rotating integrally with the rear wheel; a rear sprocket 14 as a rotary wheel body for outputting a passive rotational force, which is received by the rear wheel from a ground surface, to a drive unit 20; and a passive rotational force reduction transmission path X2 for reducing the passive rotational force transmitted to the hub body 52 to a rotational frequency smaller than the rotational frequency of the hub body 52, and transmitting the reduced passive rotational force to the rear sprocket 14.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 19
